Monthly Group Health Coaching

I offer health coaching in a group setting because  the power of groups is incredible!  I’ve done group coaching for 9 years and the discussions and support of the group is amazing!

Knowing that others are going through the same process and being able to share and support one another is powerful. Here is what group coaching looks like:

 

  • Health coaching groups are made up of 8-10 individuals who share experiences, successes, and struggles with one another.
  • Groups will be virtual 1 hour sessions every week. A private Slack Channel will be created for ongoing conversation for the group as needed in between meeting times.

Becky is a joy to work with. She is knowledgeable, personable, and truly cares about your success. She takes the time to get to know you and your health goals, and she works hard to help you achieve them. What I love about working with Becky, is that she celebrates every win and is with you during every fall.  She is skilled at knowing how to adjust your goals if they aren’t going as planned. Something I’ve learned along the way is that life throws curve balls, and you have to be willing to adapt to them. Becky reminds me to keep pushing through, even when things get difficult or don’t work the way I intended. Our meetings always give me a fresh perspective and remind me of why I started my health journey in the first place. Working on your health can feel like an uphill battle at times. It’s been great having Becky come along side me on this journey!

Similar to 1:1 coaching we discuss the pillars of health and do weekly check-ins with visual tools. You will also do a personality assessment as your personality type does play a part in how you make decisions with food.

 

  • Diet: We discuss current habits, what a healthy diet looks like and help with ideas for healthier versions of your favorites foods. You get a clear picture of what your caloric intake looks like as well as an understanding of the science behind caloric deficit.

 

  • Mindset/motivation– This is the area where most people get stuck and end up starting over with weight loss. Change your mindset, change your life. I believe that mindset is the area that is often forgotten with weight loss. Health is more complicated than just calories in and calories out. We often believe this negative narrative we tell ourselves and in order to change that, we need to be proactive against it. In group sessions, we talk about thought distortions, negative self talk and how to combat against these in order to make lasting change.

 

  • Stress– We discuss self care and what that looks like for each individual and how to make time for it. We also discuss mindfulness and really tapping into what your body is needing during times of stress. It is natural to reach for comfort and often this results in us reaching for food when our bodies aren’t hungry or needing food. We talk about coping mechanisms and what they look like in real time.

 

  • Sleep– Sleep quality is important. We discuss how you are currently resting and what might be needed to get better sleep.

 

  • Exercise– We look at your current activity regimen and discuss how  movement t fits your lifestyle.  Movement does not need to be some rigid workout routine that won’t work for you.

 

  • Habits– We go over your current eating habits and talk about triggers for why you are eating which could be related to emotions, lack of time, convenience, social situations, or people. We discuss how to change habits and triggers for food.

  • Diet: Do you love pizza? 🍕 Me too!  I help you come up with lower calorie versions that you will enjoy and I help you with time management and give you tips on how to still feel in control while eating out.
  • Mindset/motivation– This is the area where most people get stuck. Your thoughts have a way of sabotaging you.  We discuss common thought distortions and ways to work through them so you feel in control and successful as you keep working towards your goals.
  • Stress– We work together to come up with a plan for self care to help you manage stress. The choices we make with food can comfort us but often our bodies are needing something else.  We explore ideas together of what stress management looks like.
  • Sleep- Sleep quality is important. We discuss how you are currently resting and what might be needed to get better sleep.
  • Exercise- We look at your current activity regimen and discuss what movement looks like to you so it feels enjoyable and sustainable.

 

We meet weekly either in person or via Zoom.  The check in will consist of a visual self awareness tool that helps direct you to the next natural step on your health journey.  I also have you take a personality assessment to help understand how you are uniquely wired. The combination of leadership/health coaching I use has been successful as it helps me understand your unique personality and the things that may be holding you back given your wiring.
